off06.07.09 The Adicts
So recently I went out to the Palmdale desert to see the Adicts. They have been around for ever. But for some reason I’ve never checked them out or heard their stuff. I checked out a bunch of their albums and they are fucking great. And I checked their website and found out they just came thru town. But they were playing in Palmdale and I decided to go check it out. Jef and I drove out there, and it took like a hour and a half or so. We got there and they were playing at some Legionaires Hall or some weird shit like that. The place was packed. For some reason the Adicts are hella popular with young Latino punks. Like fifteen or sixteen years or. Sometimes even younger. When the show started the place erupted! It was so crazy, sweaty, and rocking! There were roadies on the side of the speakers holding them on stage because the crowd was so crazy the speakers would have fallen over if they weren’t holding them in place. I got a couple little videos of the opening song, their best song I think Joker In The Pack. As I went back to the back to meet up with Jef who was too chicken to venture into the front, he started saying “This looks like the punk rock Great White!”. We stuck around for a while, but we were very close to the door just incase we needed to make a break for it… Good Times!

106.01.09 Roller Derby – LA Derby Dolls
So I volunteer to film for the LA Derby Dolls filming crew… or as we call ourselves RaD (Research and Development). My position is on turn 1, which sees a lot crazy action. In the course of filming, I have been kicked in the head by skaters, had abut 20 near misses, and caught a hell of a lot of bashes and spills. A couple bouts ago a girl face planted right into the kick rail at the bottom of the track in front of me. That clip which made it into the opening of the next bout brought screams and yells and also had the skater retire permantaly from skating. Last saturday Gori Spelling, #90210, got face checked right infront of me. The EMT’s were on hand to treat her bashed in face, but she shook it off and was skating the second half. And she led team, the Tookie Cookies, to the winners circle. If you live in the LA area you need to come down and check these chicks out. They serve beer and the whole nite is a blast. ALl sorts of celebrities come and hang out as well. Here is a video clip of the face check from my camera!

205.28.09 NIN/JA tour 2009 Mountain View CA
I went up to San Francisco to see the Nine Inch Nails and Janes Addiction tour. Would have gone to the LA show but a good friend was certain she could get me into the SF show when LA would have been a nightmare. It didn’t matter cuz she couldn’t get me into SF either. Anyway… bought tickets with my good friend Veronica Caine, who know lives up in San Jose. She had a friend who was working the show and he got us in the front row after NIN played… We were so close we could have goosed Dave Navarro. Here are some pics and some videos…
